"In the tradition of Jim Wolfe's "A Man about Missouri" 04-14-65
Below is a letter that I have sent Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill regarding the "Cap and Trade" bill that passed the U.S. House of Representatives last week and will soon be headed to the U.S. Senate:
"Dear Senator McCaskill,
As you know last week the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Cap and
Trade bill.
It will soon head to the Senate. This bill concerns me because it will
raise the utility bills of millions of blue collar workers. It is already
a struggle for Missourians to make ends meet, we do not need our utility
bills to increase further.
This bill will also raise the taxes on American industry. At the same
time, countries like China will not have to adhere to its standards.
It is not hard to read the writing on the wall , this bill will destroy
what is left of American industry.
I humbly ask you to please vote no on Cap and Trade.
Sincerely,
Clint E. Lacy"
Please contact Senator McCaskill today and ask her to vote "no" on Cap and Trade.

I wasn't going to write about Michael Jackson's untimely death, however the amount of coverage it is receiving has forced my hand making it almost mandatory to respond.
From his days in the Jackson Five to his solo career Michael Jackson was known for his slick dance moves and upbeat pop lyrics. He was at the top of his game with the release of his album "Thriller" which revolutionized the music industry and turned music videos into a new artform.
Elizabeth Tailor dubbed him "The King of PoP", but the "pop" sooned to personal problems in the early 1990's and into the new millenium.
The media and tabloids, one time friends of Jackson, soon turned into his arch enemy with the coverage of the accusations against him.
2009 brought news of a Michael Jackson comeback and with the news of sold out shows for millions of fans, it seemed that a comeback was indeed inevitable but it was not to be.
Michael Jackson died in his home on Thursday, he did not live to see the day that the media and tabloids would become his friends again. Their coverage of this tragedy has been non-stop 24 hours per day not only solidifying Michael's status of "The King of Pop" but the most celebrated sexual predator in history as well.
Goodbye Michael, I'm sure you are smiling down at us from the giant bag of candy in the sky.

OK, let me get this straight. On June 19th, 2009 the UK's Daily Mail newspaper reported that:
"North Korea may launch a long-range ballistic missile towards Hawaii on American Independence Day, according to Japanese intelligence officials.
The missile, believed to be a Taepodong-2 with a range of up to 4,000 miles, would be launched in early July from the Dongchang-ni site on the north-western coast of the secretive country.
Intelligence analysts do not believe the device would be capable of hitting Hawaii's main islands, which are 4,500 miles from North Korea...
Details of the missile launch came from the Japan's best-selling newspaper, Yomiuri Shimbun.
It is understood the communist state is likely to fire the missile between July 4 and 8.
A launch on July 4 would coincide with Independence Day in the States. It would also be the 15th anniversary of North Korean president Kim Il-Sung's death.
Officials had initially believed that North Korea might attempt to launch a similar device towards either Japan's Okinawa island, Guam or Hawaii"
I don't know about you folks, but where I'm standin' North Korea just committed an act of aggression against the United States. So what does the U.S. do about it?
They start tracking a North Korean vessel that they believe is transporting weapons. Just to be safe the United States deploys missle defense on Hawaii.
What does North Korea do?
Well according to an Associated Press report released today:
"Punching their fists into the air and shouting "Let's crush them!" some 100,000 North Koreans packed Pyongyang's main square Thursday for an anti-U.S. rally as the communist regime promised a "fire shower of nuclear retaliation" for any American-led attack.
Several demonstrators held up a placard depicting a pair of hands smashing a missile with "U.S." written on it, according to footage taken by APTN in Pyongyang on the anniversary of the day North Korean troops charged southward, sparking the three-year Korean War in 1950.
North Korean troops will respond to any sanctions or U.S. provocations with "an annihilating blow," one senior official vowed — a pointed threat as an American destroyer shadowed a North Korean freighter sailing off China's coast, possibly with banned goods on board."
Oh OK. First they threaten to shoot a missle at Hawaii. So our government takes a do nothing (eh hem, I mean "defensive approach") to the situation and then North Korea threatens a "a fire shower of Nuclear retaliation"?
Lets review:
The United States is being bullied by this man
Kim Jon-Il the self appointed "ruler" of North Korea. Come on the man's name is Kim and he's calling the shots here. Are you kidding me.
Who cares what his motives are. Maybe he's trying to shake the U.S. down for more money, maybe he's running low on beer, women whatever.
"Kim" by threatening to Nuke the United States has just declared war whether he thinks so or not. It's time to blow the dust off of the old MacArthur plan which was:
"atomic bombing of enemy military concentrations and installations in North Korea" and an attack on China."
Scorch "Kim" until there is nothing left of his crazy syphilis infested, pubic-headed ass but his platform shoes.
Enough is enough! ! Shut up "Kim" or you'll hear from us. The choice is up to you.

He was there to pick up the endorsement of former Senator Jim Talent. About three dozen gathered for the announcement at the Frontenac Hilton."
What a coincidence; that's probably the exact amount of votes Roy Blunt will get in his bid for the U.S. Senate with "Chicken Jim's" endorsement.
The man has no shame, he wants back into politics so bad that he's willing to show up anywhere at anytime to make an "endorsement".
Newsflash Chicken Jim.... you lost! Now pick up the phone and see if Tyson needs a carpet bagging overseer, because Missouri sure doesn't!!!
Missouri needs another Bush reject about as bad as it needs more illegal Mexican Chicken processing plant workers.
My vote is going to Carnahan.
There will be a monument dedication for General J.O. Shelby in Waverly, Missouri on June 27. (This Saturday) I really wanted to make it, but due to other circumstances, I will not be able to do so.
I am seeking pictures, articles etc. to post on this blog. This event is going to be huge with the Governors of Missouri and Kentucky in attendance.
For more details please read the following announcement:

The Governors of Kentucky & Missouri plan to give speeches along with U.S. Congressman Ike Skelton.
Best of all the organizers have made arrangements for a B-52 bomber to do a “flyover” in tribute to General Shelby.
Click on the link below to see a picture of the statue and read the announcement in its entirety this sounds like it is going to be an amazing event to attend.http://www.coffeecamp.net/j_o_shelby.pdf

Coffee Camp calls on DNR to stop planned Union monument at Lexington
The Missouri Sons of Union Veterans May newsletter “The Unionist”; states that the group plans to place a monument at the Battle of Lexington { Missouri } State Historic Site attentively set for September 26, 2009 .
According to the newsletter {which can be read by clicking on the following link: http://www.suvcwmo.org/images/Missouri%20Unionist%20May%202009.pdf }
The Missouri SUV plans to fund this monument by selling reprints of the Henry Davis book entitled: “The Book of Chronicles of the City of Lexington and Fragments of the Book of Hadborim and Maazim”.
In this work, Davis, a 19th century Northern newspaper man and editor of the Lexington Union refers to Missourians as “Pukites”.
The Missouri Sons of Union Veterans May newsletter also states that the monument will be made of African stone.
The April 1910 Vol. 4 No.3 issue of the Missouri Historical Review states that Davis became proprietor of “The Lexington Union” and in 1866 changed its name to “The Caucasian” it is ironic given the fact that such a staunch Unionist would give a very supremacist name to his paper one short year after the war to “free the slaves” had ended.
The Missouri Sons of Union Veterans sale of the book to fund this monument is an insult to all Missourians. Given the fact that Missouri ’s Confederate veterans are no longer honored with the flag that they fought under, the monument should not be allowed.
In another strange turn of events, the Missouri Division Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War website that disappeared, shortly after my June 11,2009 post, magically reappeared one day after my June 22, 2009 post.
Coincidence? I don't think so.

On June 11, 2009 I posted an article here at the Missouri Bushwhacker Blog detailing the plans of the Missouri Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War to place a monument at the Battle of Lexington State Historic Site.
In the article I quoted from the group's May, 2009 newsletter, which stated that the Missouri SUV planned to sell copies of a book that referred to Missourians as "Pukites" to fund the project.
What a surprise when I recently found out that the entire Missouri Division, Sons of Union Veterans website has TOTALLY disappeared, along with the newsletter.
One can only ponder why they decided to go "underground" but my guess is that they don't want anyone "rocking the boat".
I have a little tip for the Missouri Sons of Union Veterans, if you believe your stories are so factual, it's probably not good for your credibility to "disappear" when someone exposes you.
Yesterday the Col. John T. Coffee Camp #1934 issued a press release which called on the Missouri Department of Natural Resources to refuse the Missouri SUV's offer to place a monument at Lexington.

The fact that The Battle of Lexington State Historic Site is the location of a great Southern victory early in the war and that the surrounding populace was strongly pro-Southern is enough to make one wonder, howeve r; the most disturbing part of the Missouri SUV’s plans is just how they plan to fund this monument. Again, quoting the May “Unionist” newsletter:

The newsletter post ends by stating that the proceeds from the sale of the book will go to fund the “Union defenders of
Not only is this book a blasphemy to Christians it is a slap in the face to Missourians! It was common practice for eastern newspapers and Northerners in general to call Missourians “pukes” because of their Southern sentiments.
In Henry K. Davis’ case it is really no surprise that he chose to describe Missourians as “Pukites” given the fact that , according to the ‘Bibliographical Review of Cass, Schuyler nd Brown County, Illinois-
“He issued the first daily paper ever published in
This information proves several things. It proves that Davis, the author of the book was an out of state Northerner who considered all Missourians “pukes”, the fact that his paper was even published is probably due to the fact that Lincoln and his henchman destroyed all papers that sympathized with the South.( Mr. Davis’ paper just happened to be named “The Lexington Union”)
The news of the Missouri Sons of Union Veterans planned installation of a Union monument in the heart of the area of
The Missouri Sons of Union Veterans is having the monument made from African stone, yet Henry K. Davis who authored the book that the Missouri SUV is hawking later became{ according to the April 1910 Vol. 4 No.3 issue of the Missouri Historical Review} sole proprietor of “The Lexington Union” and in 1866 changed its name to “The Caucasian”. Another irony given the fact that such a staunch Unionist would give a very supremacist name to his paper one short year after the war to “free the slaves” had ended.
Is it irony? Is it hypocrisy? The truth is a little of both, but one thing is for sure, it is definitely a twisting of the facts and a trampling of some of Missouri's most hallowed Confederate soil.
