"In the tradition of Jim Wolfe's "A Man about Missouri" 04-14-65

I was watching a program about Lincoln's assisination on the History Channel Friday and it didn't really surprise me that they portrayed Lincoln in the most posistive light possible what was unbelievable was when a PhD was interviewed and she said that many Christians see Lincoln as a Christ-like figure given the fact that he died on Good Friday.
Excuse me? A Christ-like figure?
Let's see Christ willingly allowed himself to be crucified so that he might bear the burden of man's sins.
Lincoln willingly allowed over 600,000 Americans (both North and South) to be slaughtered so that his socialist policies might be implemented.
His life ended while he was laughing it up at Ford's Theatre, dying at the hands of John Wilkes Booth.
The 4th of July should not be celebrated as a tribute to the policies of Lincoln , but in the tradition of our ancestors who stood up against tyrany.
