Obama a Pro-War Chameleon?

In an ABC interview with Barack Obama published on October 4 , 2007 an ABC reporter noticed that Obama was no longer wearing his American Flag lapel pin. According to ABC...

"An eagle-eyed reporter for the ABC affiliate in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, noticed something missing from Democratic presidential contender Sen. Barack Obama's, D-Ill., lapels.

"You don't have the American flag pin on. Is that a fashion statement?" the reporter asked, at the end of a brief interview with Obama on Wednesday. "Those have been on politicians since Sept. 12, 2001."

The standard political reply to that question might well have been, "My patriotism speaks for itself."

But Obama didn't say that.

Instead the Illinois senator answered the question at length, explaining that he no longer wears such a pin, at least in part, because of the Iraq War.

"You know, the truth is that right after 9/11, I had a pin," Obama said. "Shortly after 9/11, particularly because as we're talking about the Iraq War, that became a substitute for I think true patriotism, which is speaking out on issues that are of importance to our national security, I decided I won't wear that pin on my chest.

"Instead," he said, "I'm going to try to tell the American people what I believe will make this country great, and hopefully that will be a testimony to my patriotism."

So if this is truly what Barack Hussein Mohamad Obama believes I would like for him to explain this picture...

This is a picture of Barack Obama (taken by Kit Doyle of the Southeast Missourian newspaper while Barack was giving a speech at the Thorngate factory in Cape Girardeau on Tue. May 13th, 2008. Picture can be ordered by clicking on this link )

If for some reason this picture no longer comes up, you can view it by clicking on THIS LINK.

If you look closely, just above and to the right of Obama's hand you will see a... American Flag lapel pin.

What gives? I thought he was no longer going to wear it? I thought it was a substitute for true patriotism?

I thought you weren't going to wear that flag anymore Barack? Congratulations! You've broken you're very first campaign promise.

If not wearing the flag lapel is a testimony to your patriotism, then what kind of testimony is wearing the American Flag lapel pin after saying you weren't going to wear it?

Does this mean that he now supports the Iraq war? Who knows, but I think it might have something to do with him visiting conservative Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Barack Hussein Mohamad Obama is a chameleon , literally. When he is talking to a predominantly black audiance, he takes a darker tone, and echoes the teachings of Reverend Wright and Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, the "God Da*n America" act and the "I won't wear that pin" attitude.

When he addresses a mainly white audience in a Conservative city such as Cape Girardeau, he takes a "lighter", tone and the man that "won't wear that pin" suddenly slaps it on his lapel.

So if Barack Obama adapts to whatever environment that he happens to be in ; what kind of policy is going to evolve in the Middle East if he becomes President?

Especially , given the fact that one of the top leaders of the terror group "Hamas" has endorsed him?

In an article published on the Fox News website dated April 16th, 2008:

"top Hamas political adviser Ahmed Yousef said the terrorist group supports Obama’s foreign policy vision" and , "“We don’t mind–actually we like Mr. Obama. We hope he will (win) the election and I do believe he is like John Kennedy, great man with great principle, and he has a vision to change America to make it in a position to lead the world community but not with domination and arrogance,” Yousef said in response to a question about the group’s willingness to meet with either of the Democratic presidential candidates."

Of course while meeting with Jewish leaders in Philidelphia Obama stated:

"“We must not negotiate with a terrorist group intent on Israel’s destruction,” Obama said. “We should only sit down with Hamas if they renounce terrorism, recognize Israel’s right to exist, and abide by past agreements.”

Yes, Obama says he recognizes Israel's right to exist, but the website Conservative Truth. Org published an entire expose on why Israel fears an Obama presidency stating...

"Most Israelis would prefer that almost anyone (with perhaps the exception of Louis Farrakhan) but Obama become the next US President. They have good reason for their grave fears of what an Obama presidency would mean to Israel. And their fears are not just based on the fact that he is the favored candidate of Arabs and Muslims. The Israelis are watching the company he keeps.

Obama is running as a black candidate, although he is half white. It has been amusing to watch this millionaire from Hawaii pass himself off as a poor black man from the Southside of Chicago – and get away with it!"

Conservative Truth.Org goes on to state that:

"there is mounting evidence that he is also a black supremacist racist and an anti-Semite " and "You remember Louis Farrakhan, don’t you? Farrakhan, well known for his virulent hatred of all whites, is equally generous in his hatred of Jews.  He still brags about his “Million Man March” on Washington, DC (which authorities say was attended by less than 100,000). Although the direct ties between Obama and Louis Farrakhan are not yet clear, it is clear that Obama continued to attend Wright’s church and was one of its largest contributors even after Wright gave Farrakhan his church’s highest honor.

Yet Wright and his church (and by extension, Barrack Obama through his support of the church and its racist pastor) gave Farrakhan  the “Rev. Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. Lifetime Achievement Trumpeteer Award” at the 2007 Trumpet Gala at the United Church of Christ. In the church’s video describing this atrocity, they referred to Farrakhan as “The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan.”

During Obama's famous "Race Speech" he described himself as , "somebody who has little pieces of America all in me"

With friends like Hamas, the election of Obama to the presidency might mean that we might someday have "little pieces" of Americans  all over us !

As a staunch libertarian and constitutionalist, I'm not at all thrilled with Obama's big government plans but I hope wiser conclusions will be drawn from something besides the analysis of when he does and when he doesn't wear a patriotic flag pin.

I'm curious to hear your specific opinions on his stances rather than the re-hashed patriot-fueled fear-mongering that is so prevalent in right winged media.

A true confederate/conservative/constitutionalist shouldn't have to resort to petty games of fashion to dislike someone who obviously stands nearly opposite of their beliefs.

Eric,

Thanks for visiting and for your comments.

My point was not about fashion. It is this; that it was in Iowa that the press started paying "alot" of attention to Obama.

It was in Iowa when he said he wasn't going to wear the lapel pin anymore because it was a "substitute for patriotism".

Alot have things have come out about him since Iowa.

His links to Reverend Wright, Louis Farrakhan, Al Sharpton , the fact that he said he doesn't want to take anyone's guns, the fact that he denounced Hamas, yet Hamas endorses him.

If he lied about the lapel pin, what makes you think that he is not lying about everything else?

I'm more interested in the candidates positions on issues that the nonsense that the media sensationalize. If democratically elected political parties (Hamas) that endorse terrorism endorse presidential candidates, how easy is it for them to sway our opinions?

I find it difficult to give any weight to the junk they dig up for a story.

I don't mind the Wright debacle because no priest speaks for me.

You're reading into it what you want to read to feed your opinions. Like I said before, his policies cripple him, not his connections and easily condemnable "lies".

Look up straw man fallacy.

Yeah, I got sumpin' to say here. There's no power on G-d's green earth that would get this Southern Jew-Boy to vote for somebody who'd stand on the same stage with Farrakhan. A vote for McCain and the party of Diocletian of the Potomac would bring the unquiet spirits of my ancestors to haint me for real. So, that leaves the Libertarians. But Bob Barr who went sticking his nose in MY bedroom? Oy! But then I went looking at WHEN he had his epiphany and it turns out it was a while back, so it wasn't entirely self-serving.Methinks he means it when he says it was the suspension of the writ of habeas corpus. Anyway, I'll probably hold my nose and vote for the party if not the man.
