Jihad Jetton's "Scorched Earth" Policy...

We all know that Rod Jetton hates SOUTHERN  history but now it appears that the situation may be worse than I thought.

A Missouri legislator emailed me today with very interesting news...

"Governor Blunt has called a special session of the General Assembly to be convened Monday August 20th, 2007.

The veto by Governor Blunt of HB 327 - Jobs Creation and Economic Spending bill - has caused the special session. The Republican leadership in the House has been in conflict with leadership in the Senate concerning HB 327. Now the Missouri tax payer gets to pick up the tab for their ineffective cooperation.

House Democrat Leader Paul LeVota (D-Independence), is calling on the Republicans to fix an oversight in the Missouri minimum wage law that doesn't meet federal guidelines for overtime. SB 255 would correct the inconsistency and for what ever reason, the Republicans refuse to bring the bill to the House floor. It only makes sense to fix a problem that might bankrupt municipalities when we are debating an economic development bill.

Here is what the Speaker of the House Rod Jetton had to say about the changes needing to be made to HB 327 before the Governor will sign the law.

"several programs had to be removed.  These programs included the Neighborhood Assistance Program, the Preservation of Missouri's Civil War Sites Tax Credit, Hunting Heritage Protection Areas, Small Business Tax Credit, Youth Opportunity Program, Domestic Violence Shelters Tax Credit, Disability Access Tax Credit, Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Tax Credit, MO Homestead Preservation Act, Motor fuel tax exemption for school buses and public transportation, Nexus for franchise, income, and sales tax purposes, E-85 biodiesel tax credit, income tax deduction for purchase of hybrid automobiles, common carriers tax exemption and the tax exemption for raw materials used in auto assembly, sales tax exemption for manufacturing, sales tax exemption for aviation fuels, Family Development Account, Transportation Development Districts, Regional Railroad Authorities Act, and the Small Business and Entrepreneurial Growth Act."

Whoah there mule. Though Jetton proclaimed to be supportive of Southern heritage when he first took office, he was revealed a South-hating muslim sympathizer when co-sponsored HCR-26 a "slavery apology bill" that was the brainchild of St. Louis Muslim representative Talibin El-Amin.

Well it now seems that "Jihad Jetton" hates ALL Civil War history in Missouri. Note that the information I received today, which quotes House Speaker Jetton , states that one of the programs that was cut out of the new economic package was "the Preservation of Missouri's Civil War Sites Tax Credit" Here is what the tax credit would have accomplished....

SB 470 - This act creates an income tax credit in an amount equal to fifty percent of a contribution made by a taxpayer to an eligible organization for the preservation of Missouri's civil war sites. The tax credit is nonrefundable, but may be carried forward five years until fully claimed. The tax credit is fully transferrable. The tax credit has an aggregate annual cap of one hundred thousand dollars and a per taxpayer annual cap of twenty five thousand dollars
