Southern Independence Poll

Palmetto Patriot from the Free South Carolina Republic sent me a link last night to a new poll they have going, asking you to chose what the best path to Southern Independence might be.

The choices are...

Take over the GOP in the South.
Concentrate secessionists in one Southern State.
Forget politics. Revolution is the only solution.
Build a single Southern party.
Build parties for each Southern State.
It's all over. I just want to die comfortable.

Personally, I wouldn't have limited the choices to taking over the Republican Party only. Any party would suffice, however; that being said I have been involved with more than one Southern Independence organization over the past several years and one thing that I have learned is that , independence (or home rule for that matter) is not going to happen through an organization.

Organizations are good, and have a limited effect on our political system, but any successful effort at independence, and / or the preservation of our rights must be done at the grass-roots level. In short, the people have to want it.

I would say that the defeat of President Bush's amnesty bill for a third time is evidence that the people are just now starting to wake up.
