An Un Re-Constructed View on the News and Politics from a Missouri Reb in the tradition of Jim Wolfe's "A Man about Missouri" 04-14-65

Well, "Dead-Eye" Dick Cheney has now decided that he is no longer part of the "Executive Branch" of Government. According to ABC News...
"The man a heartbeat away from the Oval Office asserts that some rules that apply to everyone else in the executive branch do not apply to him.
Cheney has refused to comply with a request from the National Archives to hand over classified documents. The vice president's office insists that, unlike every other employee of the executive branch, that rule does not include him and his staff."
Hmmm, that's funny, Article II , Section I of the U.S. Constitution states that...
"The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. He shall hold his Office during the Term of four Years, and, together with the Vice-President"
But Cheney's latest revelation comes as no surprise. He and "W" have been writing their own rules since day one of their first term. In fact our beloved president has even referred to the Constitution as a "God D*mned piece of paper".
But let us ponder this. If Cheney is no longer part of the executive branch, then I guess Bush isn't either and if neither of them are no longer part of the executive branch, then Congress should take away "W's" ability to issue executive orders!
But I guess we can only hope for one small step at a time, ABC News is also reporting that...
" one of Cheney's archenemies is now crafting a bill that would stop all funding for Cheney's office.
"He's acting as if he's unaccountable -- a whole fourth branch of government unto himself. So my view is if you're not in the executive branch we shouldn't fund you as the executive branch," Rep. Rahm Emanuel, D-Ill., said.
Emanuel is set to introduce his bill this week. The vice president's spokeswoman accused Emanuel of "playing politics."
Hmm that's a good idea, cut off Cheney's funding, which would mean that the power and water would eventually be cut off as well.
Now the only question left is, "who's going to do it?"
I can see it now Cheney's sitting at his table snickering to himself about seceding from the executive branch, the cool air conditioning blowing through the stray hairs of his bald head, while eating a giant bowl of gumbo, when suddenly... the door bell rings.
"What the hell", Cheney thinks, "This is supposed to be a safe secure location"
"Who is it!", Cheney screams out the side of his mouth, pieces of gumbo falling on the floor and his suit.
"Washington D.C. Power and Light company sir, you have an over due bill and we either need to collect it, or shut your power off"
"Oh , uh, just a minute", Cheney says, trying to compose himself, "I'll cut you a check".
The poor electric man is waiting outside thinking everything's cool, the door slowly opens and then BAM! Cheney shoots him, then goes inside, pours a stiff drink to calm his nerves and later in the evening he'll tell the press that he was really trying to shoot somekind of waterfowl that was carrying the Bird Flu. ( of course the family of the meter man will later apologize to Cheney)
