The SCV's Flawed Policy on the NAACP

On June 16th, 2007 Sons of Confederate Veterans  issued a press release which stated (among other things) that...

"According to reports in the national press, the NAACP is suffering financial problems and is closing some operations, including all regional offices, and is making staff reductions of 40%. "

This is good news! The SCV followed up this good news by stating , quite appropriatly, that...

"“The NAACP has steadily become a political fringe group, whose views are far beyond the mainstream. Because they have repeatedly taken extreme political positions they have become a distorted caricature of their original purpose.

“Recently, the leadership of the NAACP and their political allies like the NCAA have stridently used their remaining clout to attempt to harass Southern businesses and universities in states like South Carolina and Mississippi.

“As they are now learning to their detriment, these positions have become so shrill and discredited that ordinary people are no longer interested in supporting such outrageous posturing.

"Since 1991 when the NAACP passed resolutions condemning Confederate symbols, leading to historic distortions and faulty condemnation of Confederate soldiers and leaders alike, the SCV has been diligent in opposition to what we believe has been a flawed program and unfortunate direction of the NAACP. Our contention has apparently been shared by many who have supported the NAACP in the past."

This is where CiC Sullivan should have ended his press release , but didn't and by not doing so has made a flawed and perhaps fatal error in how to deal with Black Supremacists organizations such as the NAACP. Sullivan goes on to state that...

"We of the Sons of Confederate Veterans extend an invitation to work together in unison to appropriately honor the thousands of blacks who served in Confederate military units.

"We, in SCV, would welcome a friendlier and more cooperative rhetoric by all concerned. The shrill language of hatred and extremism exhibited by the NAACP in the past has harmed the cause of tolerance and benefits no one. The SCV supports a mutual goal toward bringing greater unity and respect for all Americans.

"We stand ready to meet with and discuss meaningful and responsible ideas with the new leaders of the NAACP.

"What better time than now as the NAACP faces new perspectives?"

First things first, lets just talk about the "elephant in the room" so to speak. The NAACP is our enemy. They are a Black Supremacists organization. They have been called in many circles, "The Black Klan".

Would the SCV issue a press release stating that the Ku Klux Klan has experienced lower numbers and lack of support from ordinary people because of their "flawed" policies, then extend an offer to "cooperate" with them?

No of course not. So why extend an offer to the NAACP?

Second, why does the SCV need the NAACP to honor thousands of blacks that served in Confederate military units. Simply put, that's the SCV's job and getting down to brass tacks, it's a job the NAACP will not do, because it endangers their coveted "oppressed victim" status that it has worked so hard to create for itself.

Third, has the SCV forgotten what happens when we get "friendlier and cooperative" with the NAACP?

Let us look at previous attempts that groups have attempted to compromise with the NAACP. According to an article published in the Atlanta Daily World in 2000...

"In May, the South Carolina legislature voted to remove the Confederate flag from atop the Capitol dome and both legislative chambers.

The flag was moved to a Confederate soldiers' memorial on Capitol grounds July 1. The NAACP, unsatisfied with the compromise, continues its economic boycott of the state"

Southerners were sold out by compromising representatives in their state. The NAACP to this day, seven years later, continues its boycott against the state and is now calling for the removal of the Confederate flag from the Confederate soldiers memorial!

On January 14th, 2003 Fox News reported that...

"JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. —  State officials took down Confederate flags at two historic sites Tuesday after Democratic presidential hopeful Dick Gephardt said they shouldn't be flown anywhere."

Republicans capitalized on this event by letting their constituents believe they would restore the flags when they got elected. It didn't happen. Instead Governor Blunt (who defeated Holden in 2004), "compromised" in 2005 and "allowed" the Confederate Battle Flag to fly at Higginsville{Missouri} Confederate Cemetery for one day during a Confederate Memorial Day service held there.

I detailed the NAACP's reaction to this compromise in an article that was published in the Sept./ Oct. issue of the Barnes Review Magazine in 2005 entitled, "NAACP's Consistent Criticism of the Rebel Flag Unwarrented"...

"Governor Matt Blunt’s recent decision to order the Confederate Battle Flag raised at the Higginsville Cemetery for one day was the first time in over two years that a Confederate Flag has flown on state property.

This decision has brought much criticism directed towards Governor Blunt by the NAACP.

The NAACP has been very vocal in its criticism regarding Governor Blunt’s decision to fly the flag at Higginsville during the Confederate Memorial Day service on June 5 of this year. Below are just a few of the statements of criticism offered by NAACP:

In an article entitled, “Confederate flag to fly Sunday in Missouri” (published in the Kansas City Star, Friday, June 3rd) Mary Ratliff, President of the Missouri Conference of the NAACP was quoted as saying, "It is just appalling to me that the governor would again raise a flag that is so humiliating and reminds us of the vestige of slavery that has divided our nation for all these years”

In a recent story that appeared in the Marshall (Mo)–Democrat entitled, “Confederate flag in Higginsville sparks controversy” (published June 9, 2005) the NAACP offers yet more criticism in the form of a press release: “For anyone to imply or even suggest that a symbol that was used to terrorize, threaten, intimidate, bully and frighten individuals can somehow retain any value in our society is absurd"

For the record, Governor Blunt did not order the Confederate Flag raised at this year's Higginsville ceremony. Why? You may ask. Because the Department of Natural Resources sawed off the pole! I guess some of those well meaning , "cooperative" NAACP members finally complained enough.

This year alone, Virginia, Alabama and North Carolina all issued aplogies for slavery. This could not have been done without the infiltration of state governments by the Black Supremacist NAACP.

To even think that the Sons of Confederate Veterans can: "meet with and discuss meaningful and responsible ideas with the new leaders of the NAACP"  Is not only absurd but downright laughable!

The NAACP does not have any meaningful or responsible ideas. They are BLACK SUPREMACISTS! Their only mission is to advance the supremacy of their race! Get it?

When it was suggested to President Davis that he make War on Northern Civilians , just as Northern armies had done to Southern civilians, Davis declared that...

"it was repugnant to every sentiment of justice and humanity that the innocent should be made victims for the crimes of such monsters."

This was a noble and honorable policy. Unfortunately it probably was the death of our Southern Independence, for if the South had responded in kind to the North's depredations, the history books would have been written quite differently.

The point I am making is this. The NAACP is the enemy. The equivilant to a school yard bully. Once you fight a bully you don't let them up once they stumble and hit the ground.

The NAACP has stumbled. Any attempt to be "cooperative" with them, will only give them more time to resupply their ammo.

Wake Up CiC Sullivan!  Now is time to attack, not surrender!
