John Edwards: I will win more than one Southern state.

According to a recent article at Men's Vogue online magazine John Edwards has proudly proclaimed..."I will win more than one Southern state. "

Don't be so sure Johnny Boy!

In a January 23,2004 article which was published by WolrdNetDaily.Com, Edwards had to say this about the Confederate Flag...

"I believe the Confederate flag is a divisive symbol and should not be flown on – a specific example: It's being flown right now in front of the state capitol in Columbia, S.C.. I think that Confederate flag should be taken down there. I think what it represents to a lot of Americans is a symbol of oppression. And I think for that reason the Confederate flag should not be flown on public property like it is right now."

Ahh but Edwards has a plan to make up for his insulting his native Southland and calling for the removal of all its symbols. One of his cronies, "Mudcat" Saunders recently stated that...

"the campaign isn't just aiming at poor rural whites in the South—but at poor rural whites across the country. "There's not a 50 cent difference in Bubba in Buncombe County, North Carolina, and Iowa or New Hampshire or wherever else. We are all from basically the same set of circumstances, and a rural campaign is not just a Southern campaign. It's about the heart and soul of rural America. And John believes strongly in it."

In other words, it is the same old "we are all one" Yankee mentality that has existed before the War for Southern Independence. So now John Edwards is all about helping "the poor" eh?

Yeah we can tell John, by the size of your 28,200 square foot home that you're all about "the poor".

You know what else Edwards is all about? Family.

A couple of "family" quotes by Edwards...

"A few months after my son died, I tried probably the biggest case of my life and had to be completely focused, working 18 hours a day. Elizabeth was diagnosed with the recurrence of breast cancer—two, three weeks ago. The day after she was diagnosed, we went out of the spotlight and talked about it, and she and I both have been campaigning since that time. That's the best evidence of how I'll respond to personal challenges—what I've done in the past."

Nope, nothing gets in Edwards way, neither the heritage of a proud Southland, nor dying family members.

It just goes to prove that there's alot to be said about a man that turns his back on his heritage and his family.
