"In the tradition of Jim Wolfe's "A Man about Missouri" 04-14-65
Saturday October 24, 2009 I had the distinct honor to be the guest of the Missouri , Military Order of the Stars and Bars annual Missouri Secession Day Heritage Dinner. I was also honored to be their guest speaker as well.
The Missouri MOSB is a real class act and treated my family and I like royalty, providing us 1'st class accommodations and second to none hospitality.
Social hour began at 6:00 pm and mint julips were both free and plentiful. This was followed by a traditional Southern meal.
Next I had the honor of addressing the attendees about the "Wilson Massacre" which happened in Ripley County, Missouri on Christmas Day, 1863.
I have added additional information and plan to have the revised article posted over at Show Me South! soon.
After the speech I was presented with a plaque commemorating the event and a copy of Jerry Ponder's "The History of the 15th Missouri Cavalry,CSA"... needless to say, a good time was had by all.
