Scumbags:

Missouri GOP Behind Misleading Winder Attack Ad

I was listening to country radio station 106.1 fm the other day and heard a radio ad in which a little old lady ( or at least someone talking like a little old lady) stated that they were "tired of politicians talking about how they are going to work for you" and then goes on to use Michael Winder, candidate for  State Representative of Missouri's 156th District as an example.

The "little old lady" then goes on to perpetrate one of the worst lies in the history of politics, stating that Michael Winder is going to raise you taxes and those of your employer's, after which she then perpetrates the second worst lie in political history by stating that Shelley Keeney will keep taxes low and help bring jobs to the 156th District.

The coup de gras  is when the "little old lady" says, "Michael Winder may be working for someone, but it's not us".

Well what did you expect from the same people that brought you Matt Blunt and "Chicken" Jim Talent?

It shows that clearly the Missouri GOP are very nervous about the outcome of the race for Missouri 156th District.

Who is Michael Winder working for? That's not a hard question to answer. He gets up every morning at 4:30 and often drives as far away as St. Louis to set iron. He works hard to provide for his family, and he will work just as hard for the voters of the district.

He is a staunch supporter of our Second Amendment rights and has been given an "A" rating by the National Rifle Association.

He's Pro-Life earning the endorsements of Missouri Right to Life as well as Missourians United for Life and unlike Keeney's mentor "Rod Jetton" if elected he will not use his position for personal gain, he will be your representative, not someone else's "paid consultant".

The real question that needs to be asked is; Who is Shelley Keeney working for?

A Vote for Shelley Keeney is a vote for Rod Jetton

On September 24, 2008 Missouri House Speaker Rod Jetton was replaced as Treasurer of the Friends of Shelley Keeney campaign committee by Dr. Beverly Peters. Jetton, however; took over Peters’ role as “Deputy” treasurer. Still active in the campaign, but no longer required to be listed as such on Keeney’s website and advertisements.

Perhaps this was an attempt by Keeney to “disassociate” herself from House Speaker Jetton, if so, it was a “Hail Marry” pass on her part, for there is a long record of association between Jetton and Keeney.

On July 19th, 2008 Shelley Keeney addressed a crowd gathered at the Friends of the Foothills family picnic and benefit concert in Marble Hill where she proudly proclaimed “I’m proud to call Rod Jetton and Jason Crowell my friends”.

According to her Bio found at the following web address: http://www.shelleykeeney.com/bio.html

“Keeney took a full-time position as the district assistant for House Speaker Rod Jetton and State Senator Jason Crowell.  Her duties include handling constituent questions, attending community meetings and working with Rod and Jason to understand how any new laws would affect people in the district.

Shelley learned a great deal about Missouri government and the legislative process during her time as district assistantShe wants to put that knowledge to work as the next state representative to stop illegal immigration, strengthen families, as well as improve roads and make sure our area gets its fair share of transportation dollars”

The fact that her website biography states that she “learned a great deal” by working with Representative Jetton and Senator Crowell, tells us everything we need to know about what we can expect if Keeney is elected.

Fact: As House Speaker, Rod Jetton co-sponsored St. Louis Representative Talibdin El-Amin’s  “Slavery Apology Bill” officially known as HCR-26 in 2007. The bill was approved by the House Rules committee and was sent to the House Special Committee on Urban Issues, where it was voted “Do Pass” on  March 14, 2007. Serving on the committee were some of Jetton’s fellow Republicans, including Former Republican Representative Nathan Cooper from Cape Girardea, who was later convicted on “Immigration Fraud”, as well as Former Republican Representative Scott Muschany from Frontenac, who was indicted on a charge of “Deviant Sexual Assault” on August 6th, 2008.

Fact: As House Speaker, Rod Jetton publicly stated that Missourians were “lazy”.  On Saturday Feb. 23, 2008 the Columbia Daily Tribune published an article entitled, “Jetton stands by his comment on “lazy” Missourians” which states:

House Speaker Rod Jetton yesterday stood behind his offer to trade "lazy Missourians" for hardworking Mexican citizens.”

Fact:  House Speaker Jetton has used his position as an elected official for profit raking in thousands of dollars as a “political consultant” while cutting medical benefits to thousands of Missourians.

The December 31’st, 2007 St. Louis Post-Dispatch carried a story that revealed House Speaker Jetton “is earning $6,000 a month on the payroll of GOP candidate Mitt Romney — juggling his work for the former Massachusetts governor with his duties as the GOP leader in the House. When asked about working for Romney, Jetton responded by stating, “I wish it were more money”

On July 10th, 2008 Tony Messenger reported in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that :

Jetton's consulting business, Common Sense Conservative Consulting LLC, has signed up several lawmakers as clients: Sen. Jason Crowell, Sen. Luann Ridgeway, Sen. Robert Mayer and state Rep. Bob Onder, who is running for Congress. All of Jetton's clients are Republicans.”

While in an article entitled “The sad legacy of the Jetton era” , published on May 18th, 2008 states that:

“The subject of health care brought out the worst in Mr. Jetton's muscle-bound philosophy that only the strong deserve to survive. In 2005, he teamed with Mr. Blunt to pass a bill that cut more than 100,000 people off Medicaid and slashed benefits for about 300,000 others. No longer would they be provided with such "optional" products as wheelchair batteries, breathing tubes and crutches.”

Keeney said she has been a political supporter of Jetton since she began volunteering at his annual skeet shoot when he was a member of the Bollinger County Commission” – Rudy Keller, Southeast Missourian October 9th, 2008
