Beware of Imposters...

Whenever something is successful, it only stands to reason that others would want to share in the success. Such is the case with the Missouri Bushwhacker Blog.

Normally, I would say this is a good thing, however; when someone wants to duplicate what you're doing, they need to have their facts straight.

A friend emailed me a link to a new "copy-cat" blog that is called "The Missouri Partisan" and asked me if I knew who it was. Upon investigation it is evident for sure who one of the members is. .

First of all the blog has a picture of the Missouri Battle Flag, and states that it is Missouri's first flag...

The Christian Blue Banner

The Christian Blue Banner
Missouri's First State Flag

Wrong! The above flag is the Missouri Battle Flag also known as the Sterling Price Battle Flag. It was used by the Missourians who joined the Confederate States regular army and(most) fought East of the Mississippi.

While Missouri did not officially have a State Flag at the time of the War of Northern Aggression, it is widely believed and accepted that the following was Missouri's first flag...

Information obtained from the Rulen.Com website states that:

"The Missouri State Guard Flag was the adopted flag of a newly organized State Guard. Due to the Camp Jackson Massacre, which took place on May 10, 1861, Missouri needed defense from Federal occupational invaders. The Military Bill was passed by the Missouri State Legislature on May 11, 1861. The bill authorized Governor Claiborne Fox Jackson to disband the Missouri State Militia and reform it as the Missouri State Guard. The MSG was designed to protect Missouri from federal invasion and atrocities. The state was divided into nine Military Districts, each of which were to raise a Division of troops. Overall command of the Missouri State Guard was given to Missouri Confederate General Sterling Price. "

Rulen.Com also states the similarities between this flag and the current state flag...

"While this modern Missouri flag never flew during the war of 1861-1865, it is shown here, so as to illustrate it's Confederate roots. The Missouri State Flag has been around for a long time, and has went through many revisions and changes of design. The pattern we see today is the result of all these changes of design, but the basic style has been somewhat the same all along. Missouri finally adopted this style as the official flag almost 60 years after the War Between The States on March 22, 1913. The flag consists of three horizontal stripes of red, white and blue. These represent valor, purity, vigilance and justice. In the center white stripe is the Missouri coat-of-arms, circled by a blue band containing 24 stars, denoting that Missouri was the 24th state. Yet, it is important to keep in mind that the modern Missouri flag was based on the CONFEDERATE Missouri State Guard Flag"

Another "watch out" to look for on the Missouri Partisan blog is the fact that it states...

"Our purpose is to politically restore Missouri to her rightful place among the states as a Christian republic, securing the rights of all people, and reviving our endangered Christian culture based in the traditions of our German and Celtic ancestors."

Anyone who knows anything about Missouri history knows that German and Celtic culture do not go together. While there were some German's from Missouri who fought for the South, most were what are termed "48'ers" who immigrated from Germany to Missouri after their failed socialist revolution. They were Marxist, and they supported the Union, they helped burn out, snitch out and snuff out native Missourians during the war.

Anyone who claims to restore Missouri to her rightful place among states as a Christian Republic, has a much different agenda they are masking. Here's a hint for the folks at Missouri Partisan... You want to know why Missouri is no longer a Christian Republican? Well thank the Germans!

Listed on the blogroll is a T. Maddox. No doubt this is the same Travis Maddox that I knew from the Missouri League of the South. After I resigned, he wanted nothing more to do with me. In short, he's weak and in my opinion, can not be trusted.

I'll support anyone who wants to truly preserve our freedom and heritage. Unfortunately, "Missouri Partisan" doesn't fit that description.
