"In the tradition of Jim Wolfe's "A Man about Missouri" 04-14-65

From the Kansas City Star's 'Prime Buzz' blog...
"Missouri state Sen. Jolie Justus of Kansas City on Friday boarded a bus for Iowa where same-sex marriage is legal to wed her partner of nearly two years, the Democratic senator said Sunday.
Justus said she married Shonda Garrison of mid-Missouri at a ceremony in Iowa City.
The two were one of 17 couples mostly from the St. Louis area that took advantage of the recent Iowa Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex marriage in the Hawkeye State. Missouri does not recognize same-sex marriages, meaning that the marriage carries no legal weight back home in Kansas City.
The couples boarded a bus early Friday morning to make the trek to Iowa. Also on the bus were clergy members who came along to perform the ceremonies.
Justus, 38, said Friday was one of the best days of her life, but it also was bittersweet because of the marriage's non-standing in Missouri.
"We felt, though, that it was important that we be able to make that commitment to each other," Justus said. "My hope is that someday marriage will be recognized by Missouri and federally."
How in the hell can State Senator Justice seriously consider herself to be a represenative of the people of Missouri when as the KC 'Prime Buzz' states:
"In 2004, Missouri passed a constitutional amendment that defines marraige as between a man and a woman."
The 'Prime Buzz' blog also states Justice is a freshman state senator, which by all accounts tells me that promoting Gay marriage in Missouri was her goal all along.
Jolie Justice is an insurrectionist. Missouri is surrounded by free-loving Yankees in Illinois, Iowa and Kansas. Missouri citizens overwhelmingly approved of a Constitutional Amendment in 2004 that defined marriage as between a man and a woman, but Justice and her cohorts care not about Constitutions. There is a real effort to ammend Missouri's constitution...again and this time it will not be via the citizens, but by the media.
I firmly believe that all legal citizens have inalienable rights, but when a state legalizes Gay marriage it presents more than just a moral dilema, it takes health care away from traditional families. The insurance companies will have to make cuts somehow to cover the costs of covering non-traditional married couples. Who do you think will suffer from the cuts, the "Politically Correct" Gay couples, or the Husband, Wife and Children of America's traditional families, who continue to be under increasing attack in the media?
One person who goes by the screen name of "notuppity" wrote on the KC 'Prime Buzz'blog regarding the bus ride of Senator Justice and Shonda Garrison to Iowa:
