In a previous post published May 2, 2009 "Edgar Steele victim of Racial Discrimination?"
I gave the email addresses for the Constitution Party National Headquarters , Western States Area Chairman Frank Fluckiger and Idaho State Chairman Paul Venable.
This was in response to the internet coverage of Idaho Attorney Edgar Steele's application to the Idaho State Constitution Party being rejected by Paul Venable.
What makes this controversial is the fact that Steele is a member of the National Constitution Party, with strong pro-white beliefs. Venable who is State Chairman of the Idaho Constitution Party is black.
After sending emails to the national headquarters and to Fluckiger, urging intervention in the matter so that the principles of the Constituion are honored, I received an email today from Fluckiger who writes:
"Dear Mr. Lacy:
It has been my experience that when I have a disagreement or difference of opinion with someone else, that I have always found it wisest (as difficult as it is sometimes) to speak to that person directly to resolve the issue. So often I have found that I had initially misunderstood that person, misjudged his motives or in some other way shorted myself and the other person as well. Pursuing third party resolutions without first following that approach seems to only make a lessor person of myself and demeans me in the eyes of others at the same time. If after using that approach I find that we still differ, I have often found it wisest to simply agree to disagree. Failure to do so, only distracts me from fulfilling my long term objective to preserve the Constitution in the tradition of the Founding Fathers and to preserve our liberties and in the process cankers my own soul. I can not afford to get side tracked from that goal. Failure to resolve an issue directly between myself and another person immediately obstructs that goal. Confronting the issue and resolving it between the two of us tends to make me a better person.
I do not know Mr. Steele, but have known Paul Venable for several years and have found him to be a very bright and honorable man. Like all of us, I am sure he has his faults as well. I have personally seen him being discriminated against, but he seems to take it in stride and moves on with his life. I am sure that Mr. Steele also has good qualities and perhaps some not so good as do all of us.
May I suggest that you use this same approach in this particular situation. In doing so, I feel you will find that you too will become a better person and less judgmental of others as we all ought to be. Even Christ did not condemn the adulterous women, but simply told her to go her way and sin no more. Surely each of us would do well to follow that remarkable example. You and Paul may even find a new friend in that process.
Sincerely,
Frank Fluckiger"
First of all, I want to acknowledge that I realize that the Constitution Party probably wants to let the State parties take care of their own problems but what is a person like Mr. Steele to do when he tries to solve disputes at the local level only to find that the State Chairman (Venable) is unwilling to resolve the dispute?
It would seem that the next logical step would be to contact the Western States Area Chairman Frank Fluckiger, however; Fluckiger seems unwilling to intervene (based on the correspondence that he sent me).
There are a number of reasons why Fluckiger might not want to intervene. One is that he has acknowledged that he is a friend of Venable. If this is the reason that he does not wish to intervene, it is clear that his friendship with Venable is more important than upholding the Constitution.
Another possibility is that he lied to me. How can he be friends with Venable yet claim that he does not know Steele, especially if Steele's possible 2010 candidacy upset Venable enough to reject Steele's application?
The third possibility is that perhaps he is weak and does not have the stomach for politics.
At any rate, if Mr. Fluckiger does not want to make decisions, then perhaps he is unfit to lead?
Never the less, I decided to take his advice and email Mr. Venable. Below is my correspondence that I sent to him:

"Mr. Venable,
This one is short and sweet folks. Click on the link, it's self-explanatory. Now the DHS's list of "potential" threats includes those of the "sovereign citizen" movement, "tax protestors" and the "alternative media" (that'd be me)...
