"In the tradition of Jim Wolfe's "A Man about Missouri" 04-14-65
Recently I contacted Governor Jay Nixon's office regarding the MIAC report on the modern day militia movement.
Today I received a response from Linda Heeter who works for the Governor's constituent services department. Basically Mrs. Heeter just copied me the recent apology written by M. Britt (Director of the Missouri Department of Public Safety) to Ron Paul, Bob Barr and Chuck Baldwin.
Below is my response to Mrs. Heeter and the Governor:
Mrs. Heeter,
Thank You for this correspondence. This is a good first step in correcting the mistakes contained in the MIAC report.
Unfortunately there is still the matter of those that support Ron Paul, Bob Barr and Chuck Baldwin.
First there has been no apology to the independent and third party supporters in the State of Missouri.
Second, there is no indication that the State of Missouri, (via the MIAC) plans to stop the type of "political profiling" contained in the report.
Third, is the matter of Governor Nixon's support and defense of the MIAC report.
A formal apology is needed from the Governor himself in order to regain the support and the trust from the people.Failure to do so, will create a bigger political "backlash" directed towards his office and hinder his ability to set the agenda for his administration.
(See "An Analysis of the Political Motivations and Implications behind the MIAC's Report on the Modern Day Militia Movement" found at the following URL: http://www.semissourian.com/article/20090322/SUBMITTED01/903229996 )
As I am composing this letter, I see the "backlash" has already started. Lt. Governor Kinder is calling on Mr. Britt to be put on "Administrative Leave"
(see following url link to story: http://www.semissourian.com/article/20090325/NEWS03/703269996/1001 )
I know the Governor's office is probably very bogged down with complaints and correspondence in regards to the MIAC report, and I don't want to inhibit the Governor from carrying out his duties, but please allow me to offer one last piece of advice.
The next time the State of Missouri decides to call Constitutionalists and Third Party political supporters "terrorist" it might not be a wise decision to direct all questions and comments to Brandon Middleton.
It really is a small world, both Brandon, and myself call Advance, Missouri our home town, that is why I find it more than ironic that Mr. Middleton is doing his part to declare a large portion of Missouri's law abiding , tax payers "criminals" when his own father , (Timothy Middleton) was arrested on May 19th, 2008 for felony intent to defraud secured creditors.
According to Missouri Case Net he was released on $35,000 bond. (Go to the Missouri Case Net home page at: https://www.courts.mo.gov/casenet/base/welcome.do and do a Litigant name search of Timothy E. Middleton)
Thank You,
For taking the time to respond to my concerns.

Please join me in telling Governor Nixon that the Citizens of the State of Missouri demand a formal apology and that the State of Missouri immediately cease the political profiling of Constitutionalists, and Third Party political supporters.
